Nearly all scale and equipment manufacturers recommend periodic
calibration and your quality system certainly requires a schedule
for calibration, as well. OCS can help you control and monitor
the frequency of these visits, so that your scale service
and calibration schedules are followed properly. Our technicians

according to our and any specific
requirement of your operation. The technician will discuss

provided at your facility rather than in our laboratory. Our
technicians are fully equipped to provide those .
Some equipment calibrations must be done in a clean, controlled
environment. Without this controlled area, we may recommend
calibration services in our climate controlled lab or offer
a limited calibration document.
Our mobile unit is capable up to 120,000 lbs. including truck scales, axle scales,
rail scales, coil scales, crane scales, and crane hoist testing. Our Calibration
Test Unit arrives at your site and our technicians use our certified weight
cart to calibrate your equipment. The OCS mobile unit reduces downtime, eliminates
costly transportation and allows you to schedule the work you need at your convenience.

At the heart of OCS service is our Test Weight Verification
Procedure, contained in our Quality Management System. Our
test weights are traceable to the and are recertified
every two years by Ohio law.
Proper scale care, handling, and transportation is critical
to keeping weights accurate. We assign each technician a personal
weight set for which he is responsible and all technicians
are required to follow a set procedure. A complete log is
kept on every weight in each weight set. This log shows when
the weight was placed into the set, the date of its last traceability
test to NIST, and the date of its last inspection and verification.
All weight set logs are available for inspection by any customer.
Depending upon their type and usage, we inspect our field
test weights as often as twice a week for damage that may
affect their performance, and verify them as still being within
tolerance every quarter. We replace damaged or out-of-tolerance
weights immediately.

At OCS we pride ourselves on our ability to provide the correct documentation
for any customer involved in . We work closely with our
customers to design and produce custom documentation that will meet their needs
and comply with their own quality system.

Our technical staff includes trained technicians with an average of 15 years experience.
In many cases, technicians are receiving training from individual device manufacturers
in addition to ongoing training by supervisory personnel. The team includes scale
technicians registered with the .
OCS takes training very seriously and we have the records
to prove it. Our Quality Management System sets out a specific
training procedure for each new employee. It requires that
all our technicians qualify for the State of Ohio, Class II,
Scale Servicepersons certification before they ever
set foot in a customers plant on their own.
We regard training as an ongoing process. OCS provides both
its sales, service, and calibration staffs with periodic factory
training sessions for updating on new products. We also provide
internal refresher courses to keep our people up to date as
technology continues to advance.
